Culina

Randomly picked Culina @ Dempsey on Friday... was walking arnd thinking what to eat, but actually, I already knew I wanted to try that shop when we drove past.. :P

Then, finds out today about its exquisite foods and wines, 'leading purveyor of gourmet foods and wines', and so the websites says... haha.. amazed at my random choices..

No pictures thanks to no camera phone policy... but i try to describe la..

Oysters had a variety, like 6 different types to choose from. Tell the truth, i TOTALLY dunno how to choose, the oysters were all salty naturally though.. not like the ones in boston, i rmbr one or two not tasty de..

Escargots was quite to liking, not very French leiz.. i felt its more like HEALTHY French.. (when was French EVER healthy sia..) juicy good escargots..

The main courses were just perfect. The juiciness cant even compare with its presentation. Its very weird they stacked my trout on to of the brocolli and carrots, liddat how to cut!?!?! I lurve the chef.. haha.. he keeps all the original tastes of his main and brings out the tenderness and fragrance of the meat so skilfully..

*PRAISE*

The Cookie Museum

This is an amazing shop.. with some history too... Absolutely Made In Singapore... the cake comes in a bottle.. for lazy singaporeans to heat up in the microwave.. but seriously.. i dun like it at all...

The best part of the experience.. besides the outstanding decor and relaxing ambience.. is the fragrance.. this is what drinking tea should be about! The FRAGRANCE! even before the tea touches my lips.. my nose is already basking in its richness...

THB Fanatics!

Woah.. went to the handburger @ 313 after work today.. (no photos thanks to stupid no camera policy..) well... ordered the chicken (caesar?) burger... no set...

its not good la... i think the chicken is too dry.. and the bread is not sweet enough... the bread is good, fresh and soft, just not sweet enough... i like the mushroom cheese though.. haha.. yummy stuff... and veggies and tomatoes.. but those are the sides! the main not good lei..

yaya tried the beef de.. she ordered medium rare (she said she forgot she had food poisoning yday).. but it turned out raw... lol... i think the beef looks juicy, except that i dun take beef.. oppz.. haha...

then they gave us this THB Fanatics card upon payment.. so smart la.. they force u to be member.. lol.. already got like 800 points in my acct le.. its quite a good deal leiz.. like 10 percent rebate for every meal... just redeem ur rebate within a year can le... and 20 percent rebate on ur bday month somemore!

oh btw, we tried the warm chocolate cake dessert.. we both loved the ice-cream!!! (the side again, somehow this restaurant does well at sides but not main..) the cake itself.. does not ooze chocolate fudge like we love it.. i think a little dry also.. so the cake not good.. we miss the tcc de... :P

not too ex if u only order main.. if u order set.. will be quite pricey for the place - its like a canteen! benches and long chairs.. plus loads of chatter just 5cm away - totally noisy and no privacy!

Vegetarian?!?!? - Genting

So here we have prawns, chicken and barbecued pork. But.. the catch is, they're vegetarian! the prawns taste good, but i wouldn't say the same for chicken and pork. I love chicken, but vegetarian chicken just cannot seem to taste the same! haha.. well, still, a yummy meal. :)

Yummy food @ food court

You can get this at Tampines Mall food court for just 4 bucks! Oh, amazing isn't it? :)

It is very yummy, albeit rather spicy and may scald if you do not let it cool before succumbing it to your tongue. Go for it! :)

Sakae

Its interesting how expensive Sakae has become... However this trip to Sakae is unlike all the previous ones that were so boring as the food is just so the same!

And the decision to eat there I thought was rather amusing too...
Me: "Why are we walking here? (referring to the food street) Thought you not hungry?"
Her: "Ya horz.. I dunno leiz..."
-Walk Walk-
Me: "Oh, i think there's a sakae at that corner.."
-points- the other party looks
Her: "Really meh? At the corner?"
Me: "Ya! There.."
Her: "Yes! Got sakae lei! See!"
Me: "ya.. I saw.." -duhhed-
Her: "You want to eat sakae ah?"
Me: "I anything one la.. You want to eat sakae anot?"
Her: "Hmm.. I also anything la.."
Her: "Hmm. Let's eat sakae. Ok. Decided. Later we come eat."

We had very very interesting stuff like this smoked salmon with asparagus.. omg.. haha.. somtimes the converter belt can be so fun!

And the surprising thing was... This came to us without us ordering! Haha.. can you imagine? The Red Plate turned cheaper.. but.. but.. less quantity...

Another Drooly picture..

Omg, Has anyone tried the warm chocolate lava at TCC??? Gracious it is so delectable! Even looking at it makes one drool!

Christmas Day Outing..

OMG.. it was like a dream come true.. all three of us.. strutting down orchard road.. ok, maybe just them strutting.. i was wearing slippers.. lol... after our dim sum... it was just so exciting.. you wouldn't know unless you've had friends for Soooo long and kept each other updated with all the juicy details of your lives!

Anw, we've had really good stuff at Teochew City:
unlike this deep fried scallop wrap with prawn and yolk lol...

After some very very amazing shopping at Far East ( I bought amazing stilettos at 9.90 {Mondo}!!!!) we headed first to Zara which got us really tired out then to TCC! (Cos I was dreaming over the yummy log cake I had on Christmas eve... so we ended up with LOG CAKES!)

Yea, we ended the day at taka-wisma with MORE SHOPPING. I shall not en-lengthen the shopping with my shopping stories. So here it ends. :P

Merry Christmas!

Anw, may I present to you... Carlton's log cake!!!

Its got a layer of chocolate mousse and a layer of rum and raisin mousse, totally tantalising, you just cannot have enough of it!

Oriental Wedding Dinner

Was at Oriental to attend the wedding dinner of a friend, first time on my own, without the company of family.

It was amazing, you name it, they have it.

- Tiered-candle stands decor
- Dance for the first dish by the waiters/tresses
- Seperate pot of sharks fin for each of us
- Lobster meat, Sea cucumber, Snow fish?, big juicy scallops
- 6 yr old Compere

The table gift. Sugared almonds. Taste like M&Ms but really romantic packaging.

The Dessert.. omg.. so romantic and yummy, mango mousse and chocolate mousse cake with real mango at the side!

Seoul Garden

Went to seoul garden today.. wasn't very smooth trip though... there happened to be this huge malaysian tour group who booked the entire seoul garden at taka... So we waited like TWO ENTIRE HOURS before we managed to force our way in...

Anw, the food is good so i'm not complaining.. have a look at the gigantic amounts of meat... this is just one of the many plates of meat we took, as we waited TWO HOURS, we got so hungry we ate alot greater than our usual... haha...

We ate like uncountable amounts of prawns, haha.. grabbed them once they were out, they were irresistably yummy, you have to de-shell it before barbecuing to be able to enjoy the sweet aroma of the fresh meat slightly burnt....

yeah... I also made sze chuan chicken omelette.. very yummy, but we were so hungry, it missed the camera.. :P The kuehs also.. haha.. the kuehs are super la.. i also love the keropok.. haiyoz.. talking abt them makes me hungry! I ate till full.. continued eating till not full anymore.. lol.. like lost the senses to know if i'm full.. so now i've got this i have no idea if i'm full feeling...

Well, take a look at my new concoction, the orange juice chocolate ice-cream float!!!! :P this was darling's reaction to it: "":S

MOF with Stacy

Ok. She's pressing me for photos so to make it readily available when she returns from genting, i'm gng to post everything here! haha...

That's her at MOF with the chicken bento (that came in this covered up box!!!!)...

This is my yummy ramen... (pretty good but just normally good)

and not forgetting the dessert! its kind of bbqed mochi, very tender and soft, but a little too sweet due to the immense amt of honey they pour onto the plate.. but still, i love japanese red beans..

The Korean Feast

Ok.. we were erz.. bored.. therefore went to Novena Square to walk walk... ok, correction, i was bored, he was not.

Well, he loves bermudas from cotton on. Haha.. some of their designs are nice la - the ones not on sale that is. :P (He bought stuff from cotton on that day)

Anw, after confusing me with the Novena Square - Velocity - Square 2 combo, we ended up having Korean food for dinner, cos Square 2 is cluttered with Korean stuff - restaurants, cafes, supermarts...

Anw, i'm sorry i didn't take note of the restaurant's name. Its some Korean Casual Dining i think...

This is our starter. I find the tofu too bland, but the rest were lovely. We're both a fan of the sweet ikan bilis. Kimchi is just good, what you expect? Koreans make kimchi. The cucumber is deep in sweetness yet has that tinge of kimchi taste without the spicyness.

He ordered the kimchi soup. I've decided, he's a kimchi fan. And I love kimchi too! haha.. the soup is good la.. spicy enough.. and alot of interesting 'liao'.

And, he decided i'm a bimbab fan. I keep saying, BIMBAB!!!! and repeating it... so, we had bimbab too.. haha.. I'm sorry darling, next time i will mix immediately so the rice doesn't stick to the pot ok?

Old HK

This is a little out-dated. But the day we attempted to go to some HK cafe at east coast and found that it was onli open at 6pm, (i.e. 40mins later) we decided to drive down to Old HK. Which turned out to be a surprisingly great experience!

Very nice atmostphere, but you have to sit next to a window.

The si wa nai cha.. which darling loves..

the yummy 'dan tat'... the skin is so perfect.. haha.. and the custard just so creamy...

steaming char siew buns... haha.. actually three came, but i was so hungry I gobbled the first up before darling toook out the camera... :P

darling's into this suan la tang.. no idea why... haha... but i'm the one who really loves it.. i like the suanness but love the liao also.. but dunno what liao they are...

and of course.. our last dish is the main.. haha... the yummy main that's actually just maggi... but darling loves maggi.. wat to do?

Errata: darling loves INSTANT NOODLES, he dislikes maggi out of them. sigh.. all the same la... maggi, instant noodles... yah.. to me that is..

Project Shop cafe

Anw, that trip to Shokudo was a meet up of old poly mates.. which was followed by a chill out at the P.S. cafe. haha..

we were wondering if its the same P.S. cafe at Dempsey, but didn't manage to find out. Went to the branch at Paragon. Gosh, that night, paragon was packed like sardine! I've NEVER seen paragon THAT packed. Quite surprised!

Yah.. anw, P.S. cafe was really quite cool.. besides the fact of it being in a boutique, they serve really interesting desserts too! We had this banana pie i think.. there was thick caramel and banana chunks in the hard biscuit topped fully with whipped cream. Sorry, no idea where the photo went.

Shokudo @ Heerens

As much as Shokudo is already famous and this not being my first time there... I'd still like to mention my latest trip to Shokudo's latest outlet @ Heerens!

I've tried alot of their stuff already, and I think I'd try to avoid any return trip this Dec lol.. This time round, I tasted the Soba, which to me is really good, though not chilly. The sauce is just special with the extra sesame seeds.

Also feature is the rosti pizza. Haha.. I love rosti. Yummy...

And since S was down with ulcers.. he ordered porridge which was surprisingly delicious too! haha.. think it's really worth it.

The Pizza Place

And so I have been trying to get H and E to acc me since exam time. I tell you, exams are the most boring time in my life! Yea.. I shopped every other day i suppose, now, I shop every day! Haha.. I need MORE shopping khakis. :P

Yea, I was trying to say, nobody is free to acc me out that often, so suddenly E called very last min to jio me for dinner. Since i'm like so free, I decided to put plans for the evening aside. And off i went to Raffles City.

I'm sure all have heard of Shokudo, J.co, some green tea shop, Ben & Jerrys etc.. but do you know 'The Pizza Place'? at Raffles City basement, we tried 'The Pizza Place' for the first time. And.. the 'Chilli Seafood Pasta' was excellent, but we didn't love the Italian pizza(w/o beef as I dun take cow). To me, pizza not tasty enough.

Conclusion:
The Pizza Place has nice pasta. :)

Here's pictures of the nice Decor and Yummy pasta.
